Here's why!

From Jacksonville to Gainesville to Idar-Oberstein, Germany to Denver and back to Florida and the Tampa Bay area, my 70 years on planet Earth have been a whirlwind of challenges, support, love and joy.  I have enjoyed this whirlwind with family and many, many wonderful friends, but certainly none more important to me than my bride of 50 years.

50 YEARS  ...  CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?  ...  I CAN’T!
So it's time to celebrate.

During this time Pat and I have seen our two boys, Zach and Charlie, grow into terrific, caring men and fathers, find their own wonderful life partners in Parul and Marcie, who also bring a lot of joy to Pat and me, and with our sons raise the most perfect grandchildren on the planet.

During this time we have also had the great privilege of visiting 46 states and over 60 countries - from Peru west to Buenos Aires, Norway to South Africa, Canada to Chili or China to New Zealand - and embracing the people who share the planet with us.  While their ethnicity, politics, religions and cultures may differ, their needs, hopes, and dreams do not.  How lucky we have been to venture from our borders and learn this first-hand.

Now, after a brief two years on land, since our trip around the world celebrating Pat’s retirement, it's time once again to head to the open sea.  This time we celebrate our 70th birthdays and 50th wedding anniversary ... all occurring within a space of 10 days during the last half of April. 

Our venture will take us from the UAE to Oman, to the Gulf of Aden and quickly past Yemen and Somalia, across the Red Sea to Jordan and back to Egypt; through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea and Israel, Cypress, several Greek Islands, Italy, Monte Carlo, France, Spain, Gibraltar,  Portugal, and across the Atlantic Ocean to Bermuda.  Returning to Miami 40 days later followed by a short drive home, we will have logged over 7,000 nautical miles and had to endure only one long, long, long flight.  

On our last trip I received a lot of positive feedback about the ship photos and stories.  So I thought I do the ship thing right up front this time.
